Piecing (ピーシング) is one of Isla's Special Moves, debuting alongside her in The King of Fighters XV.
Description
While in the air, Isla kicks her opponent with her front leg one of three ways:
Piecing A |
|
Piecing B |
|
Piecing C |
Strategy
Another contributor to Isla's solid air mix-up game, this is one of Isla's more versatile Special Moves. Not only can she perform it after Throwie C (which in itself is performed after a
or
To Front on Hit), but she can also perform it instantanously without jumping first by using the "Tiger Knee" (![]()
or ![]()
) motion to do so.
Piecing A functions like any divekick in the game (e.g., Yuri Sakazaki's Raijin Kyaku or Benimaru Nikaido's Flying Drill), being a solid approach tool that Isla can also use after a backwards jump for punishing poorly-timed anti-airs after baiting them out with Drips Backward or Vertical.
Piecing B, due to its somewhat slow startup and odd angle, can actually be used to punish low fireballs (such as Terry Bogard's Power Wave or Iori Yagami's Yamibarai) on reaction, an air-to-air attack, or even an anti-air with the TK input method if timed right. Especially as a safer alternative to Scribe.
And finally, Piecing C is an overhead wheel kick that Isla can use to open up an overly defensive opponent (or even launch them outright with the
version; at least in the corner) or, again, a jump-in to cover her approach.
The
version of Piecing A is the only one of these versions that can be comboed into on hit due to Isla kicking the opponent across the stage after
Piecing C connects on hit. And even then, the best she can get is either
Scribe or Back to Back if you're quick enough.

Trivia
- The name Piecing might allude to the word "Pie" (foot in spanish) and "Piercing", as the attack's pose looks like she's about to pierce her opponent.
