Description

"Lunge forward with a hard strike. Rack up a combo by performing additional inputs."
—Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

In the majority of appearances, Terry spins around while advancing towards his opponent, driving his front shoulder into them. Holding the button down in RBFFS increases the attack's distance, while later games that give it alternate button variants have the distance be determined by button strength instead.

The rekka-style Power Charge in MOTW

The rekka-style Power Charge in MOTW

In other appearances - namely MOTW, KOF Maximum Impact 2 & Regulation A*, Power Charge becomes a multi-input special (a rekka), where Terry spins around and drives his front elbow into his opponent's midsection (called Power Charge Elbow), followed by a hook with the same arm (Power Charge Hook), and finishes with the signature shoulder-block (Power Charge Tackle). Stronger button versions have Terry move forward further with the initial elbow with more startup.

The light version only in the Maximum Impact games has him merely lunge forward with the elbow, while the stronger button version involves the spin-around motion during startup. However, buttons used for the subsequent input cannot be changed between versions, and only the same button used to start the initial elbow can finish into the hook and tackle.

Strategy

In some appearances, namely KOF XV, Neo Geo D Button Power Charge is a great lead-in for other Special Moves, namely Power Dunk.
