One Inch (ワンインチ) is one of K's Command Moves in the King of Fighters series, first appearing alongside him in The King of Fighters '99.
This would also be passed down to Kula Diamond in The King of Fighters 2000.
Description
The user strikes forward with a one-inch punch in a low stance to the solar-plexus-section of their opponent.
In games prior to KOF XIII, the user sticks out their leading arm to then clench their fist, nudging their knuckles forward a slight inch with explosive force.
As of KOF XIII, it is instead performed via jabbing the forearm an inch forward in a quick motion.
While the knockdown hit effects occur on standalone hit with the inability to cancel off of it, it can be cancelled into for a normal hit effect (that makes it cancel-able into specials and supers unlike the standalone version).
Strategy
A slow but powerful move, One Inch originally could inflict a hard sliding knockdown on normal hit, or even a counter wire wallbounce. Chained into version does not knockdown, but has barely any pushback which can make for a great combo tool.
As of KOF XIII, it instead inflicts crumple a grounded opponent, and can juggle on airborne hit via normal knockdown.
K''s One Inch cannot be canceled into specials, but can be cancel-able into other command normals in later games. In KOF XIV you could whiff cancel into standing
.
Kula's One Inch can be canceled into Special Moves. Additionally, if cancelled into, it becomes much faster and cancellable which makes it useful for combos from heavies and frame traps from lights. Although the raw version is not cancellable, it can be Quick Max Cancelled, which allows for mid juggle Quick Max combos in the corner.

Trivia
- The One Inch punch, also known as the Cun Force (寸勁) was a Chinese martial arts exercise performed at a range of 0–15 cm (0–6 in). It was popularized by renowned actor and martial artist Bruce Lee.
- This is also notable due to the many Bruce Lee references within K' and by proxy Kula.
- Solely in the Maximum Impact games, K' and Kula have Stylish Art strings that branch off of or finish into their one inch punches. Though in the case of the former which when input fast enough within a certain amount of frames, it uniquely negates the knockdown effect of the said punches to lead into the subsequent followup inputs. The Stylish Art strings with the non-knockdown one inch punches as starters in question are as follows:
