Buriki One
Profile
A boxer who typically fights in a unique style with his right arm resting. For "special" fights, he unleashes both arms and delivers punches with high destructive power. He also has a strong image as a dirty fighter because of his use of many illegal moves. [1]
Background
Super heavyweight professional boxer. Python emphasises showmanship above all else, and in some ways plays a calculated villain. He sometimes uses illegal techniques such as batting and elbow strikes, but he has never been charged with a foul. Although his dirty fighting style tends to be the focus of attention, he is a boxer with a well-rounded physique, speed, stamina, and mental toughness. It is said that when he was invited to this tournament, he asked for a huge amount of money for the fight. For better or worse, he is the very definition of a "pro" fighter. [1]
Interview
Current Heavyweight Pro-Boxer enters the ring!
The tournament's invited contestants were announced not long after the tournament. One of the first to get our attention was Rob Python! Why would the pro boxer, who is considered most likely to win the next heavyweight championship, suddenly decide to compete in a mixed martial arts tournament, one in which he has no experience at all? We interviewed him at his home in Los Angeles.
Interviewer: First of all, I would like to ask you about how you, a boxer, came to the decision to participate in this tournament?
Python: I'm a professional, so if I get an invitation, I'll consider it no matter what kind of tournament it is. I decided to participate in the tournament because the conditions they offered met my requirements. It just so happened that until now the only fights that met the conditions were boxing matches, so there was nothing special about it.
Interviewer: What are those conditions?
Python: In short, it's fight money. They make it worth my while, I'll make it worth theirs.
Interviewer: Since this tournament is a mixed martial arts competition, it is expected that there will be competitors who use a lot of low kicks and tackles.
Python: I know what you mean. But all things considered, that stuff doesn't worry me. I may be a pro boxer, but boxing's rules haven't made me soft. I box because I believe that no matter what kind of opponent I'm fighting, these two fists of mine are enough. I don't need kicks or tackles, and if my opponent uses them, I don't feel threatened.
Interviewer: Are you confident you can win?
Python: Oh yeah, I can win. I do my best in my matches.
Interviewer: I see, then good luck on the day. Finally, can you tell us about your aspirations for the tournament?
Python: Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I've never fought opponents like these before, but that doesn't change my stance. I'll show them what a real professional fight is all about. [2]
