Project Krizalid (プロジェクトクリザリッド) was an experiment to test the Kyo Clones's power.
Story
In 1997, NESTS was able to create clones from Kyo Kusanagi's DNA. After successfully mass producing Kyo clones, Krizalid proposed to NESTS "Project Krizalid"; an experiment that could combine battle data from other fighters and insert said data into the Kyo Clones. NESTS used the '99 edition of The King of Fighters tournament as many powerful fighters from all over the world would make perfect data for the clones. Additionally, the battle data could be used by Krizalid should anyone try to stop his plan.
The project ended in failure when K' defeated Krizalid at the tournament's climax, and Heidern's squadron neutralized all of the Kyo Clones. This failure lead to Krizalid's death at the hands of Zero.
